About Me
Hello, my name is Britney Tial, and I am currently a student at Indiana University Indianapolis majoring in Health Services Management. I have always known I wanted to work in the healthcare industry, even as a child, though I wasn’t sure which path was right for me. With the guidance of an excellent academic advisor, I discovered the Health Services Management field, and it has been the perfect fit. I truly enjoy the work and the purpose behind it. My goal is to become a healthcare professional who helps create an environment of comfort, trust, and support for patients and the providers who care for them.
Why Health Services Management?
I chose to major in Health Services Management because I have always wanted to improve the lives of others and contribute to the healthcare system. I knew I wanted to support physicians and patients, but I also recognized that the clinical side was not the best fit for me. Health Services Management allows me to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes by improving operations, supporting strong care teams, and helping healthcare organizations function effectively. It is a field where I can grow professionally while contributing to a system that directly affects patient care.
Throughout my coursework, the classes that have sparked my interest the most are accounting and operations. They were challenging, but I enjoyed the problem‑solving, the structure, and the satisfaction of seeing the results of my hard work. I am open to gaining experience in many areas of healthcare administration, but I am especially excited about opportunities related to finance, operations, or process improvement as I prepare to graduate and enter the workforce.
