Early Internship Experience
I intern at BACI as a Community Health Worker Intern. This experience has given me the opportunity to work closely with the Burmese American community, supporting health education efforts and learning how to effectively communicate important health information in a culturally responsive way.
My responsibilities as an intern at BACI included:
• Supporting health education and outreach initiatives within the Burmese American community
• Assisting with organizing and facilitating health workshops and presentations
• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation of client intakes
Through this role, I’ve strengthened my communication and organization skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding of community-based healthcare and the importance of cultural awareness in public health work.
